    Are they really Free?

Yes, our apps are completely free from us for Microsoft-recognized nonprofits. However, you will still require the appropriate Microsoft licenses to use them. You can obtain these either from your Microsoft partner or directly from Microsoft.

How do RapidStart apps integrate with existing business systems beyond the mentioned 1,200 pre-built connectors?

RapidStart apps’ integration capabilities with existing business systems are significantly enhanced by its support for over 1,200 pre-built connectors, which facilitate seamless data exchange and functionality extension across a wide array of applications and services commonly used in various industries. This extensive library of connectors, built on the Microsoft Power Platform, enables businesses to easily connect RapidStart apps with other software tools and platforms they are already using, such as email marketing services, accounting software, and social media platforms, thereby ensuring a cohesive and integrated ecosystem that enhances workflow efficiency and data coherence.

Can RapidStart apps be customized for nonprofit-specific needs, and if so, what are some examples of these customizations?

The platform’s design for ease of customization allows it to be tailored to meet nonprofit-specific requirements, providing organizations with the flexibility to adapt the apps to their unique processes and challenges. This customization can range from simple layout changes and field additions to more complex workflow automations and feature integrations, making RapidStart apps versatile tools that can be fine-tuned to support the specific operational needs of nonprofits. The platform’s underlying Power Platform foundation further empowers users with the ability to develop custom applications and workflows, ensuring that even the most niche or specialized business requirements can be met.

What are the specific security measures in place to protect data within RapidStart apps, given their reliance on Microsoft's Dataverse?

Regarding security, RapidStart apps leverage the robust security framework of Microsoft’s Dataverse, which underpins the platform. This includes advanced data protection measures, secure data storage, and stringent compliance standards, ensuring that users’ data is not only protected against unauthorized access but also managed in accordance with global regulatory requirements. The security measures extend to include encryption in transit and at rest, multi-factor authentication, and role-based access controls, among others, providing businesses with the assurance that their sensitive information is safeguarded within a secure and compliant environment.

These aspects combine to make RapidStart apps highly adaptable, secure, and integrated solutions suitable for a wide range of business needs and nonprofit compliance requirements, backed by the reliability and innovation associated with Microsoft’s technology ecosystem.

    Microsoft Costs (Nonprofit)

Microsoft has always offered very generous discounts to Nonprofits, and Power Apps is no exception! Please review this link for the latest information.

Power Apps Per App Pass (Subscription)

This is the lowest-cost license that RapidStart apps can run on. For Nonprofit organizations, Microsoft offers you 10 of these at no cost at all. Additional passes will cost you $2.50 Per User Per Month. That is a 50% discount from retail. This license will allow a user to access and fully use a single application, like RapidStart CRM Sales, for example. Allocating these licenses requires a little effort, but the effort may make sense if you have many single-application users. These licenses include 50 MB each of database capacity pooled at the tenant level.

    Power Apps Premium (Subscription)

This is the most flexible license and easiest to manage. The not-for-profit price for these is $5.00 Per User Per Month. That is a 75% discount from retail. This license will allow users access to unlimited apps, including non-RapidStart apps that you may have or may build for other purposes. Assigning these licenses is done the same way that Microsoft 365 licenses are assigned, so maintaining them is more straightforward. These licenses also include 250 MB each of database capacity pooled at the tenant level.

    Our Recommendation

Unless you have a very large number of single-app users, the savings are probably not worth the effort to manage the passes. We recommend “Premium” licenses for all users.

This is a small but unavoidable cost. We earn nothing on these licenses, and you would purchase them directly from Microsoft or your Microsoft Partner.
